The Employment Strategies element of Training for Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders Program (TAP) is a key component of the Aboriginal Employment Development Policy (AEDP). It is directed to strategies in the private and public sector mainstream labour markets so as to increase the numbers of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in employment and improve their career prospects. This report is framed around case study material to illustrate the types of strategies and their degree of success. The report concludes that the case studies are pointing the way forward and that the current momentum in the Employment Strategies element of TAP should be maintained as part of the AEDP.
