A bridge to the future: Australia’s national strategy for vocational education and training 1998-2003

In this paper the new national strategy ‘A Bridge to the Future: Australia’s National Strategy for Vocational Education and Training 1998-2003’ is reviewed briefly. This new strategy is the national VET sector’s response to the major economic, industrial and social forces for change which are transforming Australian life, and the author believes that it expresses the collective commitment to the future of VET by Australian governments in partnership with Australian industry, and will be used to guide VET in Australia into the new millennium.
