Cost to employers of apprenticeship training in Australia

The Centre for Labour Market Research (CLMR) currently is undertaking a research program into the cost and returns of apprenticeship training to employers, youth, and government. The distribution of those costs and returns will have a major impact on the level of training provided by firms and on the level of participation by youth. Distribution also has implications for how policy might stimulate greater training investment. However, there is little evidence on how apprentice training is financed in Australia.
