Perception of vocational education research: relevance in the eye of the beholder

This paper examines misconceptions about the amount and relevance of higher educational research relating to contemporary concerns in vocational education. It illustrates the relevance and accessibility of both international research over the last 100 years and national research explicitly directed at the very concerns of question. The author's own work is used to demonstrate direct relevance and accessibility of the research.
