Who should decide?: TAFE teachers' perceptions of their roles as decision-makers

This paper reports on the views which some NSW TAFE teachers hold about the freedom they are allowed in the exercise of their decision-making skills in teaching. It concludes that the restrictions perceived by teachers are counter productive in the development of decision-making competency and that TAFE administrators should question the practice of prescribing detailed courses of action for teachers to follow.
