The seminar was convened to discuss the question in the report as to whether there should be five or six subjects in year 12. Among the issues discussed were: (1) the nature and purpose of post-compulsory education; (2) the range of subjects, particularly languages other than English; (3) the difficulties in providing equably for the needs of all students; and (4) the planning and resources needed for successful implementation.
