Higher education report for the 1999 to 2001 triennium

This report broadly covers the developments in the higher education sector. Chapter one sets out the major developments and identifies the major trends and issues. Chapter two outlines developments in higher education teaching and learning. These developments include: measures taken to ensure quality and equity; the response to globalisation; and the application of emerging information and communications technologies. Chapter three looks at the contribution of the higher education sector to Australia’s broader research and research training efforts. Chapter four provides selected statistics on the higher education system.
