A review of support funding for Indigenous Australian students in higher education

This review of funding provided by the Commonwealth to support Indigenous Australian students’ participation in higher education commenced in January 1995 and was concluded in September 1995. Its purpose was to investigate the nature, extent and cost of support provided by higher education institutions to Indigenous Australian students to assist the Government in formulating an equitable mechanism for distributing support funds among institutions.

Part-time work and youth in transition

This study is about young people undertaking part-time work and its relevance to youth in transition. The main emphasis was an investigation of part-time work as a transition experience. Questions that it investigated covered: the nature of part-time work undertaken by youth; characteristics of youth who make up the part-time labour force; why young people engage in part-time work; does part-time work facilitate occupational career development; does part-time work fulfill a useful social/personal development function and the role of part-time work in the transition from school to work.
