This paper presents higher education statistics for 1997 for each university against each of the equity performance indicators for each of the equity groups. The equity performance indicators are access, participation, success and retention. The data is amalgamated nationally and for each state. The paper is set out in two parts. The first presents an overview which draws out significant issues. The second provides a fuller description of the statistical data for each university, following brief background and explanatory comments.
