The Tasmanian Vocational Education and Training Strategy 2004 highlights a broad range of initiatives to enhance vocational education and training (VET) provision in the state for 2004 and complements the recently released 'Tasmania: a state of learning: a strategy for post-year 10 education and training' (indexed at TD/TAS 76.01). The key initiatives include the continued targeting of training in strategic areas such as management, the energy industries and the hospitality industries, prioritising opportunities for adults and young people to gain generic and vocational skills, and an emphasis on quality maintenance in the Tasmanian VET system.
