This article discusses recent research that has shown an increase in the participation of Indigenous people in vocational education and training. In 1998 there were almost 45 000 Indigenous people in vocational education and training. Issues briefly discussed in the article include the research findings, special recruitment arrangements for Indigenous students, and the need for more improvement.
