Update on the Australian Vocational Training System

The Australian Vocational Training System (AVTS) will result in a system of multiple pathways from school to work. In this article the author provides an update on the AVTS and provides the answers to the following questions: (1) where are we now in achieving the AVTS vision; (2) what is the scope of the AVTS?; (3) what has emerged from the AVTS pilots?; and (4) how do we convert existing apprenticeships and traineeships to AVTS?.
