Issue 12: restructuring the South Australian economy: securing the future through better management skills

The purpose of this pamphlet is to identify the changing skill requirements of management functions and occupations in the South Australian economy, resulting from economic reform. The pamphlet identifies the skills, functions and characteristics that managers require in the nineties and in the future. The pamphlet is divided into the following sections: what are the challenges facing managers?; how well equipped are managers to meet these challenges?; what characteristics and skills are required by managers and organisations to meet these challenges?; and implications for DETAFE and the VET sector.
