Data communications - OSI environment: module information guide

This booklet has been developed for use within the module 'Data communications - OSI environment'. It provides a guide to working through the relevant exercises in the package 'The essential OSI'. The approach is purely theoretical; students are required to record answers to the various topic exercises in a dedicated workbook. Students' learning outcomes for this module include: the ability to define the terms relevant to computer-based communications, the ability to describe how Open Systems enables enterprise integration; and knowledge of the OSI environment. This module is listed as module NE114 of the National Core Curriculum.
