This material has been developed for use within the module `Community Services - Family and Society', for the Certificate in Community Services (Introductory) held at Tea Tree Gully College of TAFE. The learning package is divided into eight topics: introduction to family and society, factors influencing the functioning of families, family structures and functions over time, family formation, role of the family in developing attitudes and values, gender stereotyping, multiculturalism and cultural variations. Each topic consists of the purpose, objectives, time, challenge test, resources, learning activities, self checks and a feedback form.
