Literature on advanced technology contains a welter of rapidly evolving jargon and acronyms. This pamphlet is designed to define these terms to enable TAFE lecturers to come to terms with this important and growing influence on their work. Definitions are presented under three broad headings : advanced manufacturing technology (AMT), advanced technology in services and new management techniques. This pamphlet is intended to be used in conjunction with pamphlet no. 17 and the three supplementary pamphlets covering case studies in the take-up of advanced technology in Australian firms.
