A nationally consistent, high quality vocational education and training (VET) system is imperative to achieving reliable training outcomes for clients and creating certainty and credibility in the market place. This document briefly outlines the Queensland Government’s approach to developing and continuously improving the quality of VET, and its leading role in the implementation of the national training framework. The approach actively engages stakeholders in the implementation of a multi-faceted approach to quality, integrating a range of strategies and initiatives that encourage all stakeholders to take responsibility for continually improving the quality of training delivered to clients. Queensland is embracing the challenge of achieving a true quality system by combining a rigorous, consistent compliance model with a commitment to engaging stakeholders, implementing professional development, seeking continuous feedback, and driving a culture of continuous improvement for all stakeholders. To build on this, Queensland is continuing its transition to a model that strongly supports the national training framework, while reaching beyond to achieve an innovative, continuously improving, quality training system.
