The VET Communication Project was developed following a June 1998 meeting of VET team representatives where it was agreed that a comprehensive review of services to the VET client should be undertaken. It was felt that communication processes in VET teams needed to be examined/redesigned in order to improve customer satisfaction, reduce attrition rates and improve the Module Enrolment Non Attendance (MENA) rate. The MENA rate has been used by Queensland as a means of auditing the performance of training organisations, and so provides a basis for the distribution of government funding.
