Anmatjere: the growing centre of Australia: regional development plan.

This regional development plan is the result of three months of consultation and analysis concerning the future of the Anmatjere region. The region is centred around the township of Ti Tree approximately 200 kilometres north of Alice Springs on the Stuart Highway. The plan involves a 'whole of government' approach in developing the region and a number of government departments are currently implementing programs in the region or have plans to do so. Section two of the plan is entitled 'A vision for the Anmatjere region: 2012' and Goal Five of this section is to 'Expand employment and training', with the establishment of industry and government training partnerships and the establishment of Training Centres both listed as high priority projects. In Appendix A, which lists government and other agency initiatives, the Department of Employment, Education and Training is noted as being involved in working with local communities to develop new options for educational services that meet community needs and expectations. In the same Appendix, the Alice Springs Campus of Charles Darwin University is noted as being involved with the provision of horticulture training programs to Ti Tree farms and the Anmatjere community.
