The PEET partnerships with TAFE started in 1997 and began as an initiative for offenders who were managed through the drugs courts. The partnership between TAFE and Community Offender Services was developed to enable offenders with drug and alcohol problems to develop skills to enter employment or adult education or both. The PEET course is tailored to meet local needs and is linked to: (1) other TAFE courses (possibility of developing other modules again catering to the special needs of our clients - or into existing courses); (2) short term training to meet local industry needs eg. trade tickets, green card.
