'Training agenda' is a quarterly journal dedicated to issues relating to vocational education and training (VET) in New South Wales (NSW). This issue includes the following articles: 'Well women - the value of women only courses in increasing capacity' by Lisa Harrison (p. 8-9) which reports on research carried out by TAFE NSW - North Coast and Western Sydney Institutes in collaboration with TAFE Women's Programs Unit, into graduate outcomes of the Certificate III course Career Education and Employment for Women; 'A very good year' (p. 10-12) reports on a range of awards won by TAFE NSW students and staff including NSW Training Awards, Young Manufacturer of the Year, WorldSkills 2005, TAFE NSW Industry Partners and TAFE NSW Quality Awards; 'The Sound of the Engine Room' by Bernadette Cavanagh (p. 14-16) reports on the International Centre for Vocational Education and Training Conference 'The learning powerhouse: what's happening in the engine room' which was held at the Australian Technology Park, Sydney in September 2005; 'Dealing with new generation students' by Barry Peddle (p.17, 30) discusses issues in teaching, learning and assessment as TAFE becomes more demand driven; 'The mad hatters' by Toby Creswell (p. 18-21) reports on the teaching of millinery at TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute; 'Touring America by arts' by Peter Bryant reports on a study tour Bryant undertook to the US to investigate contemporary strategic marketing communications practices and theory specifically as related to arts and not-for-profit organisations; 'Managing increasing complexities' by John Mitchell (p. 26-29) discusses the challenges being faced by TAFE managers and the skills that these challenges require.
