The potential of vocational education and training (VET) to influence social and economic development and further the education outcomes for Aboriginal people has been investigated by the NSW Board of Vocational Education and Training (BVET). A number of successful training programs and projects in Cellulose Valley in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales illustrates how these can improve the economic and social development of a community with the commitment of everyone involved. The case studies show achievements in business and health programs.
