Online learning is one of the fastest growing areas in vocational education and training (VET). A survey of teachers has fed into the development of a web-based guide for education and training practitioners to develop and conduct assessment online which meets Australian Quality Training Framework requirements. The national project 'Online assessment strategies and models' has undertaken extensive research to ensure the guide meets the needs of VET practitioners and its aim was to accelerate the take-up of flexible learning in VET. The web-based guide will provide access to an overview or map of the stages and tasks involved in online assessment, a range of models, guidelines for best practice, professional development materials, checklists and software tools.
