This paper reports on a project which sought to investigate and provide recommended options for processes which can be used by TAFE New South Wales (NSW) institutes in planning for the maintenance of technical currency among teaching staff. The research focused on three TAFE NSW institutes and selected training packages associated with three divisions, while also incorporating a broader scan of best practice examples and advice on future options. There is a range of strategies which Institutes/management/staff may use in the pursuit of technical currency of teachers. The paper includes a definition of technical currency, 13 recommendations and a checklist.
