The Australian Flexible Learning Framework Strategy 2001 (indexed at TD/ANTA 69.19) has as its over-arching goal 'an expanding core of vocational education and training (VET) learners who are empowered by a wide range of flexible delivery methods, particularly e-learning'. 'Access and equity in online learning' is one of 19 projects and three facilitating programs funded in 2001 to advance this goal. Stage 2 of this project will investigate: (1) women learners in VET; (2) rural and remote learners; (3) isolated learners in metropolitan areas; and (4) the concept of the 'digital divide' to determine the extent to which it is a significant factor impeding or facilitating VET provision around Australia.
