Robust and complex: reflections on the apprenticeship and traineeship system

This article gives an overview of the apprenticeship and traineeship system in Australia, and the role of various agencies and organisations within it. The author also examines the findings of Kaye Schofield's reviews of training under the apprenticeship and traineeship systems in Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria. These include the risks and strengths within the systems, interesting differences between the states, and directions for the future.
