This plan sets out the strategic directions and priorities of the mining industry in New South Wales (NSW) for vocational education and training (VET) over the three years 2001-2003. The contents of the plan include: industry vision, strategic directions and priorities for VET for 2001-2003 and industry profile. Also included are industry factors and recommendations for VET in the areas of training packages; language, literacy and numeracy; apprenticeships and traineeships; flexible delivery of training; workplace training and assessment; and occupational health and safety. The mining industry comprises four sectors: coal, metalliferous, quarrying and drilling.
