This plan sets out the strategic directions and priorities of the furniture industry in New South Wales (NSW) for vocational education and training (VET) over the three years 2001-2003. The contents of the plan include: critical VET issues for the furnishing industry; the activities of the NSW Furnishing Industry Training Council - the Industry Training Advisory Body (ITAB) for the furnishing industry; measurement of customer satisfaction; and an overview and analysis of the furnishing industry sectors. The furnishing industry encompasses the following areas: furnishings hard sector (timber based); furnishings soft sector (upholstery and soft furnishing based); musical instruments; and floor coverings.
