This plan sets out the strategic directions and priorities for the forest and forest products industry in New South Wales (NSW) for vocational education and training (VET) for the three years 2001-2003. The contents of the plan include: industry vision; industry profile; structure of the industry; government policies and their impact; the future of the timber industry; strategic directions and key industry priorities; government initiatives; key projected training board activities; industry skill needs for 2001 and annual national priorities for 2000. The forest and forest products industry includes the following sectors: harvesting, manufacturing, merchandising, sawmilling and panel products.
