Young women - new futures seminar

This paper begins by describing the history of the movement, over the past 25 years, to have the education and training needs of women and girls treated as equal to the needs of men and boys. It follows this by giving some statistics from 1996 and 1997 outlining the representation of women in various industries and occupations. Finally it reflects on the current trend towards part-time work which is affecting large sections of the labour force.
