This plan sets out the strategic directions and priorities of the information technology and telecommunications industries in New South Wales for vocational education and training (VET) over the three years 2000-2002. The contents of the plan include: the information and communications technologies (ICT) industry vision; information and communications technology industry profile; defining the ICT industry; employment by state; occupations; telecommunications employment in NSW; information technology; industry specific occupations; employment by industry sectors; age and sex; strategic directions and priorities; recommendations for vocational education and training in NSW; and recommendations for vocational education and training research.
