This article provides an overview of the services available within the NSW Department of Education and Training to both school and TAFE students with a disability. Strategies being used by TAFE include the employment of Disability Teacher Consultants, the use of adaptive technologies and providing an inclusive curriculum which minimises the barriers to successful participation for all groups of learners. Strategies being used by schools include providing access to workplace learning and community based work experience and the Transition 7-12 program which is designed to increase opportunities for students to gather information, receive support and develop decision-making skills to equip them for adult life.
