This article was adapted from a discussion paper by Dr Owen Davies, Michelle Ellis and Dr Mark McFadden which first appeared in the NSW HSC On-line journal. A recent evaluation of New South Wales (NSW) Higher School Certificate (HSC) On-line revealed that the site is not being used to the extent that its accessibility indicates it should be. Teachers are the key to its effective use, however at the moment many are not comfortable with the technology. The NSW HSC On-line team is about to launch a professional development package for teachers aimed at supporting them as they consider how to best use the web for teaching and learning.
