OTEN training in flexible ways: an Australian experience

This paper begins by giving an overview of the current framework for vocational education and training (VET) in Australia. This is followed by an overview of the Open Training and Education Network - Distance Education (OTEN) which outlines various areas within OTEN and the responsibilities of these areas. It then describes six partnerships OTEN has established with enterprises to deliver training in the workplace. In each of these cases OTEN has used customisation of existing courses, flexible study modes and fast and efficient implementation to solve training problems which had been identified by the partner organisation.
