This presentation focuses on three components of the Women in Decision Making Project, an Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) funded project which is part of the implementation process for the National Women's VET Strategy. These components are: the charter of best practice; skills profile - a check list; and advice for women by women. Using these components, achievable outcomes for women in decision making within vocational education and training (VET) organisations throughout Australia are highlighted. It is suggested that more recognition and ongoing support be given to organisations that have implemented policies and practices aimed at improving the participation of women in decision making, and that high quality , accessible and supportive training programs are available to VET organisations, industry and communities that will result in desirable and durable training outcomes for women.
