'The Reading Writing Roadshow' made use of television, a workbook and a telephone referral service to provide literacy instruction to a target audience of adults - those with a literacy problem who had not sought help for their problem. This report investigates the impact of the project and its' objectives were to ascertain: the learning from the project by members of the target audience; the impact of the project on adult literacy provision; and the cost-benefit/effectiveness of the project. 'The Reading Writing Roadshow' project made use of television, a workbook and a telephone referral service to provide literacy instruction to a target audience of adults - those with a literacy problem who had not sought help for their problem. A team from the University of New England was selected to conduct an evaluation of the project. The evaluation had three objectives, to ascertain: the learning from the project by members of the target audience; the impact of the project on adult literacy provision; and the cost-benefit/effectiveness of the project.
