The Aboriginal Dance Theatre Redfern (ADTR) was established in 1979 to provide an arts and cultural access service to the Aboriginal community of Redfern, an inner city suburb of Sydney. The ADTR asked the Assessment Centre to work with them to identify training needs (and further employment possibilities) and develop a recognition process with workers having a wide range of skills and experience, although not necessarily many formal qualifications.
