In 1994 the Adult Education and Vocational Training Institute (AEVTI) was established within the Department of Corrective Services (DOCS) to facilitate the delivery of TAFE and other training programs to inmates in NSW. AEVTI is approved by the NSW Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) and the NSW Department of Training and Education Co-ordination (DTEC) as an accredited VET provider so any training inmates do provides a training pathway to assist them after their release.
