The FORMUJER Programme (Programme to Strengthen Technical and Vocational Training of Low Income Women in Latin America) aims to promote and strengthen the capacities of institutions of the region to design and implement policies developed to improve the quality, relevance and equity of training for work and increase the employability of women and men. In order to achieve this aim, FORMUJER has developed a model of intervention. This document: supplements the conceptual, methodological and strategic rationale of the proposed model of intervention, articulating it with the Conceptual and Teaching Materials Series; presents its design and structure; analyses the process of implementing the model proposed and the Programme, going further into depth regarding the different strategies applied in each country; outlines the main results of execution up to mid-2003, in overall terms and, basically, in qualitative terms; and shares the reflections and learning that have been gathered over the five years of execution. The contents are: Challenges and opportunities of vocational and technical training policy in Latin America at the turn of the century; A model of training policies for various areas of intervention and multiple players: the Regional FORMUJER Programme; Strengthening the institutional and personal project as an objective and methodology of intervention - FORMUJER Argentina; Gender policy as an institutional innovation strategy and an educational technology model - FORMUJER Bolivia; Gender mainstreaming as an instrument and condition for the promotion of a systemic approach to institutional policy and modus operandi - FORMUJER Costa Rica.
