The main purpose of this report is to contribute towards actions for creating conditions for most young people in Latin America to obtain productive jobs and to be able to progress in decent employment. It documents the youth unemployment challenges in the Latin American and Caribbean region (LAC) and puts forward a number of proposals for action within the areas of: regulation; social protection; education and vocational training for work; business training and development; social inclusion; institutional framework; and the contribution of workers' and employers' organisations.
