In order for Chinese Taipei technical institutes to meet the needs of society, it is necessary to re-evaluate the functions of technical institutes. In particular, technical institutes need to re-evaluate the contexts and curricula to improve the educational quality for national needs. The following research questions were included in this study. What were students' motivations to study in the technical institute? How did students achieve in the professional technology, reasoning skills and humane science? What were students' expectations on the improvement of technical institute policies and practices? Self-rating questionnaires were sent out. Based on the collected data, a number of conclusions and recommendations are offered.
