The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that effect teaching in vocational high schools. The focus was on investigating issues that occur within daily instruction, such as teaching models, instructional problems, instruction methods, classroom management and discipline. Data was collected and analysed to reveal vocational teachers teaching practices. The conclusion is that vocational teachers need to improve their teaching skills and to recognise what is important to students so that they can motivate student learning.
