Technological development and the global economy are among the forces driving education and training programs to become more flexible and customer-centred. There is evidence of a growing reliance on partnerships. As the momentum for alternative approaches grows, education and training providers must be alert to conditions that can affect the quality of the outcomes. This paper identifies some of the ongoing developments and discusses quality issues and concerns. Suggestions on ways to address the issues are included.
