Gender, leadership, and vocational education

This paper provides a summary of research results from studies in leadership in vocational education conducted by the authors since 1989. The purpose is to explore the relationship between gender and leadership using those research results that have implications for the extent that gender-related differences exist among vocational administrators. This examination is motivated by the need for capable leaders in vocational education and the potential for leadership amongst qualified women in the field, previously denied such promotion by gender-based discrimination.
