This abstract describes a study that examined the weaknesses in the current management of work-based experience. The weaknesses included the lack of comprehensive organisational support, different objectives of work-based experience, lack or preparation, inappropriate management and a lack of work-based experience evaluation. It proposes strategies for management reform. Suggested strategies for reform include the diversification of the purposes of work-based experience, establishment of efficient plans for management, improvement of methods to develop and operate programs, improvement of work-based experience evaluation and the establishment of a support system.
