Evaluating an international vocational education research linkage: a case study of culture, communication and collaboration

This paper argues the need for an internationalisation of vocational education and training (VET) culture to respond to the expansion of multinational businesses and the globalisation of economic activity. To this end the paper reports on a case study of an international VET research linkage established between universities in Finland and the United States. The study examined the perceptions of the participants with regard to cross cultural competencies, the impact of the programme on participants and the extent to which the programme served as a catalyst for international communication and collaboration.
