This publication describes the initial and continuing professional development of the teachers and trainers involved in the initial vocational education and training (VET) of youth in Italy, Ireland and Portugal. It is part of a series designed to increase mutual understanding and facilitate information exchange about VET in the different Member States of the European Union. The focus of the series is on teachers and trainers, the modes of teacher and trainer training, and pathways into the profession. Three sections, each dealing with a different country, detail the initial vocational training system and then identify and describe initial vocational teachers and trainers, and the initial and continuing training opportunities available to teachers and trainers in VET. Detailed lists of VET courses, training institutions and reference material are included. This series of volumes is indexed from TD/INT 58.347 to TD/INT 58.350.
