Vocational and technical education: an important player in Taiwan's economic success

This article presents an overview of the economic development of Taiwan and the corresponding evolution of vocational and technical education over the last two decades. The discussion focuses on the impact of vocational and technical education on economic development and vice versa. In addition, recent developments in vocational and technical education in Taiwan are described. Several tables are included containing data illustrating these economic and educational developments.
