This paper was presented at Vocational education at a distance: the Asia and the Pacific region workshop (TD/IRD 88.96). Learning has been a life long need, especially for business white collar workers to survive in the rapidly changing circumstances. In this short paper, POSCO (Pohang Steel Company) corporate distance learning applications will be discussed in terms of cost effectiveness and technological aspects using groupware system, MIPOS (Multimedia Integrated Popular Office System). POSCO has been using two-way teleconferencing technology since 1988, and with intelligent office building and MIPOS completion in 1995, both works and learning environments are more computerised and advanced than ever.
