This document outlines progress on the Awarding Bodies Assessment and Verification Common Accord (The Common Accord). The Common Accord was drafted in 1992 in order to set out assessment and verification processes which would offer the necessary quality in relation to all National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) awards. It emphasises the coherence of the NVQ framework to make it easier for users of NVQs to understand the system and seeks to improve the cost effectiveness and credibility of NVQs.
